On our recent Habitat Day, students had fun in the sun -- thanks to many wonderful parents, Hamilton Staff, and the 5th Grade Environmental Club. Thank you to Carry Cornell for a dazzling lesson on sunlight. Julie Weber is much admired for her leadership and ability to make something out of (almost) nothing: the seed pots! We are grateful for Mrs Wright and Mrs Silver for guidance on the Habitat Walk, and to the students that served as leaders. We truly appreciate the ladies that organized all the planting for their grades and helped out each other on the day of the event: Joyce Silva, Alison Chiappeta, and Lisa Torsiello with Kindergarten, Ann Teicher with 1st Grade, Liz Cox and Carollyn Finegold with 2nd, Lynn Horton with 3rd, Jen Casey with 4th, and Merri Kapiloff with 5th. Many thanks to Chris Leishear for cleaning up and designing the 3rd grade vegetable garden; it looks stunning! Special thanks to Bryon Torsiello for seed delivery. And, thank you to all the parents that spent a fast-paced afternoon helping to create about 250 seed pots, 75 pieces of sun art (and displaying it), and planting over 250 plants at the school! We appreciate the generosity of Whole Foods and Home Depot in supporting this event.
